WSC, through its partner GNP in S. Korea, was awarded software licensing for the upgrade of the Hanbit Unit 3 training simulator located at the Hanbit site in Jeollanam-do Province, South Korea. The Hanbit Unit 3 is an OPR-1000 Korean nuclear power plant design that started operation in early 1995. Unit-3 and Unit-4 are 2-loop Combustion Engineering (C-E) System 80 plants with major components and construction handled domestically under a technology transfer agreement. This upgrade to the suite of 3KEYSOFTWARE tools, 3KEYMASTER, 3KEYRELAP and 3KEYSAFE was preceded with an award for the upgrade of Hanbit Unit 1 simulator in 2021. WSC technology is currently used on 2 out of 3 simulators at the Hanbit site. The Hanbit site is rated as the 5th largest nuclear generating site in the world. GNP with the WSC technology continue the steady and consistent effort to provide KHNP with the best-in-class technology and support for all training simulators in South Korea.
