Idaho National Labs ATR Awards
WSC and Idaho National Labs (INL) continue to work together to enhance the Advanced Test Reactor (ATR) with several small upgrade projects awarded this year, including:
- Low Pressure Instrument Air Model update due to INL replacing the 3 different compressors that provide low-pressure air for the ATR with 2 new compressors, providing the same air pressure that is currently utilized. The 3 older compressors will provde air to areas outside the plant.
- Transformer Model Upgrade to reflect INL replacing two transformers in the 4160V electrical distribution along with additional relays, which are being incorporated, that can be controlled from the control room.
- Replacement CDS HMI support in a 3-phase project by providing assistance in the development of a modernized design for the CDS and Annunciator HMI screens, using 3KEYMASTER to support 1) General HMI Screen Layout, 2) HMI Screen Refinement, and 3) incorporating the changes derived from phases 1 and 2 into an updated version of the CDS and Annunciator emulation.
- I/O System Upgrade to replace the aging National Instruments I/O hardware system and hard to maintain Arcaus computer with a new Ethernet-based TMI I/O system.
