Oglethorpe Power Company (OPC) has contracted WSC, Inc (WSC) to update the Thomas A. Smith Energy Facility Combined Cycle Power Plant simulator. Included are updates to the 3KEYMASTER gas turbine (GT) and steam turbine (ST) models required to accommodate the new GT/ST Mark VIe IO and controls and an Instructor Station upgrade to provide the instructor with the ability to insert component malfunctions from mimicked DCS HMI screens. WSC will also provide updated ITS software and lessons to reflect the update from the Mark VI controls to Mark VIe controls.
