WSC developed and delivered a high-fidelity model for an Effluent Decontamination System (EDS) designed to purify greywater waste from a facility handling highly infectious diseases. The EDS system consisted of three treatment mixers each on sequential timers that combined the facility greywater with a measured amount of sodium hypochlorite and agitated the mixture long enough to ensure sterility before releasing it into a sanitary sewer. The simulator was used as a proof concept for the system design to ensure that control sequences were initialized properly and could handle the expected maximum effluent flowrate of the facility.
