WSC is
currently working on two projects to develop high-fidelity simulators for clean
room facilities. The simulators include first principal models of the facility
airflow dynamics, heating ventilation and cooling systems, and a full emulation
of the facilities' Siemens PPCL controls. Each facility consists of three main
manufacturing suites that operate at either positive or negative pressure, each
with ante room vestibules and other supporting spaces. Pressure is tightly
controlled to within a +/- 0.01 inch
Water Column band for each room in the facility in order to constantly maintain
air leak directions and maintain the sterile environment of the manufacturing
suites.
These simulators are currently used to support the facilities during commissioning, providing a testbed for different control strategies, and enabling facility pressure instabilities to be debugged in the event they are discovered after the initial facility installation.
