WSC received a contract from Duke Energy to upgrade the Crystal River Unit 5 simulator. The Unit 5 simulator was originally developed in 2008 using WSC's 3KEYMASTER simulation technology and was updated by WSC in 2010 and in 2011. However, the simulator has not been updated since that time. WSC is updating the simulator with fully emulated ABB and Ovation Controls and including a new Unit 5 VFD model and a new simulator hardware platform. WSC will update the current standalone FGD simulator with a full emulation of the Ovation DCS and will migrate the simulator to the new simulator hardware platform. When complete, the fully-emulated Unit 5 and FGD simulation solutions will execute on a single hardware platform.
