In December 2016, WSC completed and delivered the power system simulator for Kafue Gorge Regional Training Center (KGRTC) of Zambia. The simulator, which will be used for training and research, models the electrical grid systems of the Zambia transmission network, Lusaka and Copperbelt Energy Corporation (CEC) distribution networks, and Uganda transmission network comprising a reduced Southern African Power Pool (SAPP) model. The models consist of substations containing busses, transformers, loads, generators, breakers, switches and other active and passive electrical devices. Each network contains a simulated SCADA based on the actual screens used by the operators at the control centers.
