GE awarded a contract to WSC to provide LADWP with a simulator for the Scattergood site.
The simulator will be based on the Scattergood Units 6 and 7 (GE LMS100 Combustion Turbine Generator with synchronous condenser capability) and Unit 4/5 (GE 107FA Combustion Turbine, ST-A650 Steam Turbine and HRSG). The simulation will consist of two Scattergood plant specific LMS100 gas-turbine-generators, each with a rated output of ~100 MWe under standard conditions using natural gas as the primary fuel, along with one plant specific 107FA Gas Turbine, rated for 217 MWe under standard conditions using natural gas as the primary fuel, one ST-A650 Steam Turbine, rated for 100 MWe under standard conditions, and all necessary plant auxiliaries. WSC will provide the communication program to pass information between 3KEYMASTER and the GE Mark VIe virtual controllers and Cimplicity HMI. PLCs will be emulated or simplified within the scope of the simulator to provide the operator with the means to control the simulated station. WSCs Instructor Station is also being provided to allow the instructor to monitor and control the simulator exercises.
